Santiago, Monday, September 3, 2018.- Based in the United States and represented as one of the most influential Chilean scientists at present, the physicist and expert in artificial intelligence, economics and big data, César Hidalgo, will visit our country and impart a talk that explores cross-cutting issues that aim to strengthen citizenship and democracy, in addition to better management in the public sector.
The talk “How do countries learn? The principles of collective learning “, will be held on Friday, September 7 at the Luksic auditorium of the San Joaquin Campus of the Catholic University, at 1:30 p.m.
It will present three basic principles that govern the creation and dissemination of knowledge and strategies to disseminate knowledge will be discussed. Finally, the scientist will present tools of integration, distribution, and visualization of data on a large scale designed to facilitate executive and strategic tasks in large organizations.
This free activity has been organized by the Millennium Institute Fundamentals of Data (@imfdchile), as part of its commitment to bring to the community the debate on the relevance of public data: Marcelo Arenas, director of the Institute and full professor ofU. Católica, said that “we are sure that César’s vision and ideas are of the greatest relevance for Chile today, both in terms of developing tools for data processing, and in the social approach that has given to his work. “
César Hidalgo is also director of the Center for Public Space Studies. Its academic publications have been cited more than 10,000 times and its online systems have received more than 100 million visits. He has numerous awards and his latest book, “Why Information Grows”, has been translated into more than ten languages.
