April, 2024.-The data gap between men and women is the main theme of The Invisible Woman, the book by Caroline Criado Perez, which will be analyzed in the second IMFD – ODEGI Book Club, which will be held in online format and will have three sessions starting on Thursday, May 16.
In each meeting, three chapters of the book will be analyzed, in a conversation moderated by Jocelyn Dunstan Escudero, Computer Science and IMC UC academic, together with Daniela Moyano, UC Design academic and co-founder of ODEGI.
Just as there is a wage gap, the book brings to light the existence of a data gap: information marked by a male bias, used to define health parameters, design mass consumption products or approve drugs, among many other actions that impact the quality of life of women.
To participate, you must register in the form, you will receive an email confirming your participation, and on the day of the activity, a link to access the online room.
And also: We have a raffle! Thanks to Jocelyn Dunstan Escudero, we have books to give away, check our Instagram posts @fundamentosdelosdatos @odegichile and @jo_cientifica and participate.
