Exhibit: Gonzalo Mena works at the intersection between statistics, machine learning and computational biology. He is currently at the University of Oxford (UK) as Florence Nightingale Bicentennial Fellow and Tutor in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning. Until recently he was part of the Harvard University Data Science Initiative, in the USA. He holds a PhD in Statistics from Columbia University (USA) and is a mathematical civil engineer from the University of Chile.
Description: Gonzalo Mena will address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Metropolitan Region, using epidemiological surveillance, mortality, demographic and mobility data. Gonzalo will share in this talk the correlations that have been observed between adverse outcomes and different indicators of social vulnerability.
