Is your organization truly ready to use artificial intelligence? IMFD invites you to the workshop “Know Your Data: An Essential Step for AI”

Companies, universities, public services, and social organizations generate large amounts of information every day. However, many are unaware of whether their data
has the quality and organization necessary to take advantage of artificial intelligence tools. A free workshop by the Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data (IMFD), to be held in Santiago, Viña del Mar, and Concepción, will aim to provide a practical methodology to diagnose, organize, and begin transforming that data into a strategic asset.

An organization may have thousands of digital records, databases, spreadsheets, and computer systems. However, when the time comes to implement an artificial intelligence tool, a question arises that has rarely been answered before: do we really know the state of our data? For the Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data (IMFD), that is the true gateway to effective AI adoption. “Many organizations think that the big challenge is learning to use artificial intelligence, when in reality what matters most is knowing the quality and organization of their own data,” explains Juan Reutter, director of IMFD.

With that goal in mind, IMFD developed the workshop “Know Your Data: An Essential Step for AI,” a theoretical-practical experience that, rather than teaching how to use artificial intelligence tools, seeks to help each organization understand the state of its data and build an initial roadmap to organize and prepare it for future AI-based projects. Through a methodology developed by IMFD, participants will be able to identify strengths and gaps in their information management and begin transforming that data into a strategic asset for decision-making.

What will we do at each workshop?

The workshop begins with a self-assessment, through which each participant will be able to evaluate the current state of their organization’s data, identify strengths and gaps, and recognize how prepared it is to move forward with artificial intelligence-based solutions.

From that point on, the activity combines theoretical content and hands-on exercises to understand essential aspects of data management, such as quality, organization, and integrity, fundamental elements for generating reliable and useful information for decision-making

By the end of the day, each participant will take home a document developed during the workshop that will allow them to assess the current state of their data, identify opportunities for improvement, and outline an initial roadmap to begin incorporating artificial intelligence tools according to the needs and context of their institution.

The methodology places the experience of participants at its center. The workshop invites participants to share experiences, reflect collectively, and learn from real cases developed by the IMFD, connecting theory with concrete situations currently faced by universities, companies, public institutions, and civil society organizations.
