Successful start of new IMFD Espacio cycle

April, 2024.- With more than 30 attendees, the Millennium Institute Foundational Research on Data (IMFD) launched the new Espacio IMFD, a series of activities combining research seminars, talks, panel discussions, and more. This series aims to promote the interdisciplinary research that characterizes IMFD and also to generate activities that support and encourage IMFD students to position themselves in the academic world.

The panel discussion: Publish or Perish: strategies for academic publishing, was moderated by IMFD researcher Magdalena Saldaña, School of Communications UC, and featured the participation of IMFD researchers Gonzalo Navarro, DCC U. Chile; Hans Löbel, DCC UC; Sebastián Valenzuela, School of Communications UC; and IMFD researcher Jocelyn Dunstan, IMC – DCC UC.

In the activity, students from the institute participated actively, and had the opportunity to share and clarify their questions about the world of academic publishing, and the differences in this area between the various disciplines represented by the speakers were also actively addressed.

Espacio IMFD is an initiative of the IMFD Academic Directorate, and it is expected that a session will be held once a month, addressing different topics of interest that bring together both researchers and students from the institute.
