IMFD presents its new podcast and radio program Let's talk about data, the basics of artificial intelligence.

Disseminating science-based content created at the institute to locations across the country: that's one of the goals of the new podcast and radio show Let's Talk Data, the basics of artificial intelligence, which the Millennium Institute has launched. Millennium Institute Foundational Research on Data (IMFD) has just launched, with funding from the Public Science program of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation.

For the academic IMC-DCC UC, Jocelyn Dunstan Escudero, academic director of the project, "Let's Talk about Data seeks to democratize knowledge in a pleasant and close way. We seek to be in all listening platforms, but also in local radios from Arica to Porvenir. For me it is common to learn from podcasts in English, or discussing in class with my students in the artificial intelligence course, but I deeply believe in the value of leaving knowledge open to the population", she emphasizes.

"At IMFD, we decided that the media crisis could be an opportunity. And that's how we started working with podcasts, a format that allows us to share knowledge with our audiences. In this project, the push given to us by the Public Science program is allowing us to reach much further, thanks to a series of agreements with local radio stations," explained Paula Mónica Silva, project director, at the forum held at the launch.

In the discussion, the participants shared the challenges that data science and artificial intelligence offer to our country. The activity was attended by Jocelyn Dunstan Escudero, host of the podcast and academic director of the project; Davor Mimica, host of the program and director of Democracia en LSD; Claudia López, academic of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María; and Hernán Sarmiento, director of the Innovation area of the IMFD.

The podcast will have 10 chapters that will address how data science and artificial intelligence are changing sectors and areas of work in our country, such as health, education, art, communications, sustainability, among others. "We start by situating what is data science and artificial intelligence to then talk with the professor of the Federico Santa Maria University Claudia Lopez about artificial intelligence focused on People and the level of confidence of the population in it. Like each chapter, it ends with a reflection of what was discussed".
