Assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Concepción and Young Researcher at Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data. José obtained his doctorate degree in Computer Science at the University of Concepción in 2016. From 2016 until 2019 he did a postdoctoral stay at the University of Chile, under the supervision of Prof. Gonzalo Navarro, and research stays in Finland and Spain. His research interests include compact data structures, text compression and parallel algorithms.
