Pablo Badilla
Master’s in Computer Science from the DCC at Universidad de Chile. His area of specialization is Machine Learning, especially focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP). He developed his thesis “WEFE: The Word Embeddings Fairness Evaluation Framework” on the study of algorithmic biases in widely used models for solving language-related problems: Word Embeddings. This work resulted in a paper published at the IJCAI conference, as well as an open-source library (https://wefe.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) that replicates the aforementioned study. It is still active, with constant implementation of new features as well as new users.
He is currently teaching a course in the Master’s in Data Science program at Universidad de Chile (MDS), as well as working in the Technology Area of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA), led by Professor Álvaro Soto.
Supervisor: Felipe Bravo Márquez and Jorge Pérez.
