Sergio Toro
Doctor of Political Science. Professor at the School of Government of the Universidad Mayor. His specialties are comparative politics, Chilean politics, and data science for public policy, topics on which he has been the principal investigator for FONDECYT and FONDEF projects. His publications can be found in journals such as the Journal of Legislative Studies, Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Economy, Bulletin of Latin American Research, World Political Science Review, Revista de Ciencia Política, among others. He was a researcher at the Corporation for Latin American Studies (CIEPLAN) and a consultant for the United Nations Development Program in Chile (UNDP). He was elected President of the Chilean Political Science Association (ACCP) for the 2014-2016 term and has been a Visiting Scholar at universities in Spain and the United States. He holds a PhD in Political Science. He is Director of the Information Center for Democracy-UDEC and Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Political Science at the University of Concepción.
