PhD in Political Science. Full Professor at the School of Government of Universidad Mayor. His specialty is comparative politics, Chilean politics, and data science for public policy, areas in which he has been principal investigator on FONDECYT and FONDEF projects. His publications appear in journals such as Journal of Legislative Studies, Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Economy, Bulletin of Latin American Research, World Political Science Review, Revista de Ciencia Política, among others. He was a researcher at the Corporación de Estudios para Latinoamérica, CIEPLAN, and a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme in Chile (UNDP). He was elected President of the Chilean Political Science Association (ACCP) for the 2014-2016 period and has been a Visiting Scholar at universities in Spain and the United States.
