Magdalena Saldaña receives the Paul Lazarsfeld Professorship award from the University of Vienna

December 2024. Magdalena Saldaña, professor at the PUC School of Communications and IMFD researcher, has been honored with a prestigious award from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Vienna in Austria: the Paul Lazarsfeld Professorship.

This award is given to outstanding academics with an innovative profile in the fields of theory and methodology in empirical social sciences. The award includes an invitation to Vienna to teach a short doctoral course and give a master class for faculty members, which will take place during the second semester of 2025.

"The researchers who have received this recognition in previous years are people I admire greatly, such as Daniela Dimitrova, Stuart Soroka, Pablo Barberá, etc. For this reason, this award is a very important recognition for me, but also for our faculty because it indicates that the most important universities in the world are looking at the work we do in Chile," says the Faculty's Director of Research and Creation.
