Sociology Colloquia at UC

From the Faculty of Communications comes IMFD academic and researcher Sebastián Valenzuela, as part of the Sociología UC 2024 colloquium series.

Sebastián, who is also Scientific Director of the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE), and researcher at the Millennium Nucleus on Digital Inequalities and Opportunities (NUDOS), will present “¿Algoritmos de (des)información?” (“Algorithms of (Mis)information?”), where he will delve into the fundamental role played by algorithms and the social platforms that use them across three key dimensions of democratic citizenship: (1) information and misinformation, (2) attitudes and opinions, and (3) political behavior.
