Panel Discussion: “Archives for the Future”

The panel discussion “Archives for the Future: Risks and Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence in the Search for Truth” is a space for reflection and dialogue organized by the National Institute for Human Rights (INDH).

Although AI offers unprecedented tools for large-scale data analysis and cross-referencing information in human rights archives, its use raises unavoidable ethical challenges.

During the event, topics to be addressed include victims’ privacy, possible algorithmic biases, and the impact of disinformation.

The goal is to discuss how to properly integrate these technologies in order to preserve memory, search for truth, and protect human rights.

📘 Special milestone: Presentation of the publication “Use of Computational Technologies in Memory Archives: Large-Scale Processing of Information Contained in the Files of the Former Colonia Dignidad,” led by Matías González (INDH) and Camila Rojas of the Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data (IMFD).
