Chile WiC – 8th Meeting of Women in Computing in Chile

Location: Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Aula Magna of Universidad de los Andes, in Santiago.

Bárbara Poblete, Researcher at the Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data (IMFD) and Computer Science professor at Universidad de Chile, is co-founder and co-organizer of Chile WiC.

The goal of Chile WiC is to give visibility to the work done by women in disciplines related to computing and technology, both in industry and academia, and to encourage the creation of support networks among women at all stages of their professional careers. The gathering also seeks to foster community reflection on gender-related issues, such as promoting a positive image of computing among girls and improving working conditions for current professionals in computing.
