**Workshop on Emerging Challenges in Databases and AI Research (DBAI)**

Coordinates: between November 12 and 15, 2019, in Santa Cruz, VI Region.

The workshop Emerging Challenges in Databases and AI Research (DBAI) brought together 65 researchers in the field of databases and artificial intelligence from various parts of the world. This gathering was organized by Flagship Project 3 of the Millennium Institute for Foundational Research on Data (IMFD), called Creating New Query Languages for Information Networks.

Led by researchers Pablo Barceló, director of the Institute of Mathematical and Computational Engineering at Universidad Católica and deputy director of IMFD; Leo Bertossi, faculty member at the Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez; and Aidan Hogan, faculty member of the Departamento de Ciencias de la Computación at Universidad de Chile — all IMFD researchers —, the gathering brought together the most prominent academics working at the intersections of databases and artificial intelligence, who took part in research sessions and launched new projects together with the institute.
