Artificial Intelligence in the Engineering Industry: SOCHEDI 2022
SUMMARY
This panel is organized by the National Center for Artificial Intelligence - CENIA. Its objective is to present some applications of Artificial Intelligence in engineering problems from the experience of SimpliRoute: a company that collaborates with CENIA and whose focus is to optimize logistics routes for different multinationals and local businesses.
PRESENT
Felipe Guerrero, Industrial Civil Engineer and Master in Computer Science, both from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT management leading technology teams mainly in retail. He currently serves as coordinator of 18 software engineers / machine learning engineers at CENIA. He has been a postgraduate professor for IT professionals for more than 15 years and specializes in the link between technology and management.
Víctor González-Hasbún, Vice President of Data Science at SimpliRoute. Victor has a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering and a Master in Operations Management, both from the University of Chile. He has more than 10 years of experience leading the development of different optimization models, first in mining, and currently in SimpliRoute. Regarding Data Science projects, he has been leading for 3 years the development and implementation of models for solving the vehicle routing problem. This has involved overcoming many difficulties in the process, but has also allowed him to visualize the great value they can generate.
Jazmine Maldonado, Civil Engineer in Computer Science and Master in Computer Science from the University of Chile. Jazmine is CEO of IMFD Innovation, unit in charge of the linkage with the public and private sector of the Millennium Institute Foundational Research on Data (IMFD). This has allowed her to lead the execution of applied technological innovation projects based on data management, data science and artificial intelligence, ensuring the quality and excellence of the solutions. In addition to projects, IMFD Innovation offers consulting and training services.
